Suzette is being raised by a sweet and gentle mother and her husband, a convicted felon and lifelong criminal. Not only is Dad a violent man, he may also be running from the mob. If only Suzette’s real father would claim her as his own. Then she wouldn’t have to be constantly defending herself. Then she would feel safe, happy, and loved. The question is—who is her real father, exactly? Is he the father of her older brother? And if he is, why won’t he claim Suzette as his own? Or is her bio-father the man who stabbed her mother in the back with a knife and left her for dead? That possibility is too terrible to even contemplate. For now, our heroine must live with these unanswered questions. She has more immediate concerns on her mind. Like, how to stay alive and strong while under the same roof with a dangerous man. And, how to keep her own heart pure and loving in the midst of the violence. Before all is said and done, Suzette will learn to fight back, find her voice, blaze her own trail, and discover the true meaning of love and family.
Good girls get cuddled. Bad girls get spanked... then cuddled. FIONA I never knew my father. I've never called anyone Daddy before. So... when I did it for the first time as a joke to Grey, my best friend's older brother, it was like all of a sudden something clicked. It was hot. It was right. It made me crave more. I may be an eighteen year old virgin with no real experience to speak of, but I've got quite the imagination... And I've read plenty of romance novels to know exactly what I'd like to do with Grey. I know what I want him to do to me, too. Please, Daddy... I promise I'll be a good girl... GREY Why is my little sister's best friend waltzing around our house wearing the skimpiest "outfit" I've ever seen? Don't ask. Not that I'm complaining, either. She has a body that's just begging to be dominated, bent over my bed, while I tell her what a naughty girl she is. Fiona turns me on so much it hurts. I'm not putting up with this tease any longer. At first I rolled my eyes at her little "joke" but the more she calls me Daddy, the more perfect it feels. "Daddy" means more to her than I thought possible. It's not about being a father. It's not being a father figure, either. It's like being everything. Love, lust, and all that's in between. Why am I so tempted? Who knows, but I want to be her Daddy forever.

December 25th, Christmas Day for all kids, is the best day of the year (besides their own birthday). It’s a celebration full of happiness, gifts, smiles, laughter, joy, and excitement. You would never associate that day with a broken heart, sadness, and a mother having to tell her three kids the worst news ever ... well, it’s possible. Life experienced a kid named Ray at a young age to grow up and understand the real importance of being strong for the people that are around you. December 25th, 2008, his father Memphis committed suicide and it made him question everybody and everything, including God. He was in the 3rd grade, eight years old, and the oldest of three children. His family went through one of the hardest times in their life, with no one to turn to in times of despair. At that point in his life, he could not grasp the purpose of that decision and mentally was disturbed. He didn’t know how to handle what he was going through, with that being said, he decided that nothing in life was worth it anymore and succeeding wasn’t on his agenda any longer. He gave up. He didn't go to school for two months straight. He quit sports. He never ate, and at times, he questioned life itself. His mother Star was the only thing that kept him moving and motivated. She was his inspiration, motivation, and the reason he kept going.

The phrase has become a cultural cliché and a punchline. But if your father was absent, abusive, or aloof, you know daddy issues are no laughing matter. Regardless of your gender, ethnicity, age, religion, or culture, the failures of our fathers wound us deeply - and those wounds do not simply go away with time. They follow us wherever we go. They impact our relationships with God and others. They influence how we view ourselves and our world. At times they seem to wield unshakeable control. Yet there is good news: God desires to heal your father wounds. He speaks truthfully and powerfully into each of them with the gospel of Jesus Christ, which alone has the power to close these festering wounds and free you from their control. Daddy Issues both diagnoses the wounds caused by absent, abusive and aloof fathers and dresses them with the healing power of God's words. Open the book and allow the Great Physician to do his work. To help leaders we have included a DISCUSSION GUIDE following each section.
Daddy issues have been relegated to the realm of personal problems individuals take to therapists. In this bold, daring essay Katherine Angel asks: what is the father-daughter relationship today? How can it be understood politically?
Author: Katherine Angel
Contemporary feminism has re-embraced thinking about the big ideas - patriarchy, capitalism, care. But contemporary concern about men tends to relate to the men in our lives other than our fathers: our partners, friends, colleagues, bosses - many of whom are also, of course, fathers. Discontent with fathers has increasingly been privatised within feminist discourse. Daddy issues have been relegated to the realm of personal problems individuals take to therapists. In this bold, daring essay Katherine Angel asks: what is the father-daughter relationship today? How can it be understood politically? What political harms are done in the name of a father's love? Drawing on classic works by Virginia Woolf and Valerie Solonas along with more recent examples drawn from literature, film and TV, Angel examines how artists have conveyed the painful powers of the father in relation to the daughter.

The book is all about how our romantic relationships are affected by the relationships we have as young people with our parents. Our upbringing, influences and what we are taught to be normalized in our everyday wake of life will determine our failures or successes in building relationships with the opposite sex. I was tired until I finally realized the reason I was getting involved with men of bad character is because I had "Daddy Issues." I was looking for the man who abandoned me as a child in the men I dated. Sadly these men had similar issues, they had no fathers and didn't like their mothers; they had "Mommy Issues." Learning this about myself helped me dig deeper into the soil and find the ugly truth many people are urged to keep buried. Most people like to lie about their painstaking reality! I wrote about my own and revealed the sole truth of my life's experience of how I developed Daddy Issues and how I identified with the men I encountered that suffered from Mommy Issues!!! This topic is an epidemic in every culture and yet so under discussed! I am calling it all out!
